Stage One Dance Classes Adelaide
Stage One offers tuition in all facets of dance including Classical, Contemporary, Jazz (Commercial & Broadway), Tap, Lyrical, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop and Cheerleading. We cater to all ages, accepting students from 2 years to senior age.
We offer classes for fun, fitness, performance or the more serious students looking to make a career in dance. We offer traineeships and scholarships with on the job training to selected students.
Ballet
In these classes, our dancers build on their ballet technique using creative role-play, costumes, props and thrive from positive reinforcement.
Jazz
Jazz is our most popular genre and the students enjoy learning and building on their Jazz technique as they progress through the age groups.
Tap
In this class, students will be taught the tap technique as well as building on their sense of rhythm and their confidence when it comes to performances.
Contemporary
In these classes, students learn the style of expressive dance by connecting the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Hip Hop
Our Hip Hop classes consist of basic warm-ups and stretches. This is then followed by the instruction of routines for performance.
Lyrical
In these classes, students will learn lyrical dance in the form of routines constructed for performance.
Musical Theatre
Our performance students will learn Musical Theatre routines which will be performed in Competitions, Cabarets and Concerts throughout the year.
Acrobatic Arts
Developed by experts in Contortion, Ballet, Modern Jazz, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics, Yoga, Pilates, Hand Balancing and Physiotherapy you will not find a more comprehensive program for your child.
Cheerleading
Classes will consist of a basic warm-up followed by short routines building strength, flexibility, and power. Cheerleading is a great way for children to enhance balance, coordination and agility.

Just For Fun Classes
Our just for fun classes are for students that love to dance without the pressure of competitions. We offer tuition in Jazz, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary, Tap and Cheer for all ages. Students are taught routines that can be performed in our yearly concerts.
Technique Classes
Technique classes are available in all dance genres. Technique classes are specifically designed to strengthen the dancers’ bodies and prevent them from injury. Correct technique is vital to young growing bodies and safe dance practice is something we feel very strongly about at Stage One.
Performance (Competition Classes)
Performance classes are provided in all dance genres and are suited to the more serious and accomplished dancer. Performance teams work towards competing in Competitions, Concerts and Cabarets throughout the dance year. All performance dancers also must attend technique classes to gain the knowledge of safe dance practice and strengthen their bodies.
Ready Set Acro
READY SET ACRO is a collaborative acrobatic program developed with Industry Leader Acrobatic Arts, specifically designed for preschoolers. It emphasises safe and effective progressions to foster the physical and social skills needed for healthy early childhood development.
The program is developed with original music with lyric cues and focuses on three key components: Stretch, Strength, and Skills.
STRETCH: Enhance flexibility and expand the range of motion in all major muscle groups.
STRENGTH: Young learners engage in a variety of exercises designed to promote physical strength and control.
SKILLS: Preschoolers develop social literacy and build confidence while exploring a wide range of Acro Dance movements.
Ready Set Move with Me
READY SET MOVE is a creative movement and music class for toddlers and their grownup. The class consists of 3 sections – ENGAGE, EXPLORE AND EXPRESS.
The ENGAGE section is a playful exploration of music, nursery rhymes, lap play and parachute fun. The EXPLORE section is set up as a circuit around the room with obstacles like steppingstones, tunnels and sensory activities designed to encourage investigation and build coordination skills. The EXPRESS section of the class involves free dance movement which develops creativity with instruments, feathers, and bubbles.
Join our community and learn new ways to interact with your toddler. Young children at this age are in the period of highest brain growth and development in their lifespan.
Participating in READY SET MOVE with the support of a grown up can make a significant contribution to play, development and learning. So come and bounce like a bunny, be slow like a sloth and create memories with your special little mover.
Ready Set Dance
READY SET DANCE is a one-hour Ready Set Dance combo class of JAZZ, TAP, HIP HOP, SINGING and MUSIC. and a whole lot of fun!
The program caters for two levels, 2-3 years and 4-5 years.
JAZZ – Develop muscle strength, control and balance and achieve coordination milestones like skipping before going to school.
HIP HOP – Bust out some ice cold moves just like Freeze to our original hip hop tracks.
MUSIC – Develop the musical ear, dynamics and tempo while having fun with instruments and the parachute.
SINGING – Sing like Twirl and build confidence singing on the microphone.
TAP – Learn the fundamentals of tap in a playful and creative way splashing in puddles and shuffling like a penguin.
All these ingredients together create a super hour of fun!
Ready Set Ballet
A 30-minute magical ballet experience for 2- 5-year-olds. Twirl our mascot will lead our little dancers through each step of the class as they learn the fundamentals of ballet.
MUSIC – Engage in specifically designed music that captures the beauty of classical ballet.
CURRICULUM – Develop coordination, body awareness, strength, and flexibility both through visual and auditory instruction.
MIME – Explore creativity and gain confidence by going on a picnic with FREEZE and TWIRL, riding the tutu train to storybook lane and so much more.
THEMED DANCES – Learn the beautifully themed dances that have music prompts to support preschooler’s playful participation.
PROPS – Have fun twirling with rainbow ribbons, swaying with feathers, and popping bubbles. These resources support tactile awareness and strengthen fine motor coordination and control.
